Writing persuasively is more than just asking for donations, grants, and gifts. While these may be an important part of your job, they are only three examples of how persuasive writing can help you get the results you want and need. Good persuasive writing skills can help you sell products and services, justify budget and staff increases, gain management support for your ideas and proposals, and get others to agree with you. This class will help you understand how persuasive writing differs from other types of business writing and will teach you how to:

  • Present your ideas as benefits to capture reader interest.
  • Motivate your readers to take action.
  • Use language to create rapport with your readers.
  • State your position clearly, provide adequate evidence to support your position, and consider or address the opposition.
